Difference of M. aethiopica to M. broderipii: In Melo aethiopica the protoconch doesn't surmount the last whorl or only marginally, in Melo broderipii [1] it does significantly.

Deutsch: Länge 24 cm, Herkunft Region Indonesien - Malaysia - Neu-Guinea. Gehäuse aus eigener Sammlung, daher nicht georeferenziert.
English: Crowned Baler, Volutidae, length 24 cm, originating from the region Indonesia - Malaysia - New Guinea. Shell of own collection, therefore not geocoded.
From left to right: Dorsal, lateral (right side), ventral, back, and front view.
Français : Melo aethiopica, un molusque gastéropode de la famille des Volutidae. Coquille venant de la région Malaisie-Nouvelle-Guinée Longueur 24 cm.
