Résolution du problème de Napoléon:

Comment trouver le centre d'un cercle par une construction exclusive au compas.

Epure réalisée sous solidworks.

Détail de la construction

soit le cercle C dont on veut déterminer le centre. Soit un point A de C.

Un cercle C1 centré en A rencontre C en B et B'.

Deux cercles C2 centrés en B et B' et passant par A se rencontrent au point C.

Un cercle C3 centré sur C et passant par A rencontre C1 en D et D'

Deux cercles C4 centrés en D et D' se rencontrent au centre de C.

Remarque

en donnant au cercle C un rayon égale à 1, et à C1 un rayon r dans l'intervalle [1/2;2]. Alors la distance AC vaut r².
