11/24/2013 - I have made three variations of the model as noted last week. The parts list is a start of whats needed to build any one of the three variations so there is extra here and there of things that might be needed. Also as this is a prototype there is extra built in and the list is not currently complete. I will try to create as many links to what I am actually ordering. Now will likely come a lull while I build up some cash to order and slightly tweak the initial design.
11/15/2013 - Initial posting of the Proteus sketchup file. Inside you will find three versions of the build. The difference you will see is with different methods of the Z axis. In short, I am worried about wobble in the tall moving gantry with this setup. I would like to use the belt in pinion throughout as it keeps things super neat and clean. but definitely don't like the extra weight on top. This may force threaded rods to be used. This build is still very much in the design/concept phase so things are still changing pretty radically.
Proteus
Build in 'X/Y Table Style Bots' published by Jovian, Nov 26, 2013.
Proteus is the Greek God of change. Besides the numerous aspect of 3D printing that this could relate to this machine like the god can change. The Build allows for an interchanging head that will allow different functionality to be quickly and easily adapted. So you could print clay, silicon, plastic, cut with a laser cutter or even attach a rotary tool
