I am still in the concept phase, but it is coming along. This delta printer was inspired by quite a few of the current delta printers in production. Mostly inspired by the BerryBot and a few others I have listed in the "inspired by" section.

The goal is to make a reasonably low cost delta printer that has little to no backlash. I plan on using v-slot 20x40 aluminum extrusion as the frame with ABS or AL milled connecting ends. The carriages will be milled AL plates with chrome balls that will connect to carbon fiber magnetic arms. The effector plate will be milled aluminum with chrome balls embedded.

I will be posting some pictures, and other details as time allows.

      What's with the name?

Z3d is short for ZomboBot 3d. For those that remember the zombo dot com website, one of the many hilarious things that it droned on was that "Anything is possible..." / "The only limit is yourself.." / "The infinite is possible"...etc... you get the idea. When one of my best friends asked my why I wanted to build my own 3d printer I found myself describing it very much like that. "I can print anything, I am only limited by my imagination!" Hence the Z3d printer was born.
