Is there a way of programing a Spasific x-y location so that a touch plate can be mounted to the frame for a homing cycle ? I'll be updating my table top mill I made to improve it's cutting and think that something like this would help a lot. I ran short on extrusion so MDF was my only option at the time for a table/spoil board. This is a pic of it before the upgrade to 3/8 plate and a 1.5kw spindle. All of the first upgrades where cut on it, then transferred to the mill bit by bit And some of the update pics
Sure there is Robert. In the script, call the homing routine then specify the co-ordinates of the touch plate. In my applications I always set Z zero to the top surface of the work and as the work thickness can be different from one day to the next there is advantage in placing the touch plate on the surface of the work to obtain Z zero without any measurements being necessary. btw. very nice machine build you have there. Tweakie.
Ty Now that I think about it, I just may do as you and make a insulated weighted plate, I was mainly thinking about bit changing
Thank you Tweakie for the excellent macro. I changed a few lines (SAE) and it works great. No longer do I have to use a eye ball guessing for Zeroing m Z axis.
Well here it is T, my very own diy touch plate. Thanks for the great build and idea 1/4 " Buss bar from the scrap Milled minus 25% and lightly brush finished @800 grit Scrap 5.8mm acrylic Finished results Just love turning junk into a useful item again
Work of art my friend! Awesome job BTW In case you did not know this, in SketchUp you can add more sides to an arc or circle by right clicking on the edge > entity info and adding more line count in the segments.
Ty bud! I'm having issues with the output of code with the new plug in update. Half way through cutting my code "Center line tool only so far" the machine goes nutz pulls some random moves and continues on like nothing happened ? I'm not sure what's happening but I have gone through a lot of matireals
I will post ASAP Just a build I'm keeping on the down low for now so I don't want to post the files here. Pm me an e-mail I can send them to
You have lost me completely regarding video 2 and video 3 Do you mean this http://openbuilds.com/builds/tool-position-setting-part-i.484/ ? Tweakie.
