PDM60 Ground Trigger

by lawr1000.

2 layer board of 0.41x1.01 inches (10.44x25.68 mm).

Allows 12V to control the ground trigger on Rowe Electronics’s PDM60 module.

The Ignition wire on the PDM60 senses the presence of 12V to turn outputs on. While the Ground Trigger wire senses the presence of a ground to turn outputs on. This works great for ground switched items like horns but some vehicles switch 12V to the horn and leave the ground always connected i.e. some BMW motorcycles. This circuit board uses 12V to turn a transistor on which shorts the Ground Trigger wire to ground. I also included some PTCs which act like re-settable fuses to hopefully prevent catastrophic results from miss-wiring. I included the PTC for the Ignition wire.
The side of the board with three solder terminals is intended to be connected to the PDM60 with GND terminal finding it’s way back to battery negative terminal. The other side with two solder terminals is the sense side where IG is connected say your headlight 12V and the GT is connected to the 12V switch horn.
