Auxiliary controller shield for aftermarket head units. Requires Arduino compatible microcontroller.

For use with turning on Ford factory installed subwoofer amplifiers that use 5V remote switching instead of the 12v supplied by aftermarket head units. Also adds ambient lighting controls and parking brake detection bypass capabilities for aftermarket stereo head units with video screens/settings editing that require parking brake to be set to proceed.

Features:

  • Parking brake emulation via relay, (to access video and settings normally disabled when parking brake is not set)
  • Delayed 5v Amplifier remote signal, (used to eliminate “sub pop” when vehicle is turned on
  • Adds the ability to add and control ambient lighting using adafruit’s NeoPixels, or equivalent. (Emulates Ford Sync ambient lighting)

Supports GRB/RGB & GRBW Neopixels, (requires external 5v 1A source)

  • Supports (2) push buttons with or without RGB LEDs for ambient lighting control or custom inputs
  • Added SD card reader for storing settings between powered off states, (instead of using EEPROM)
  • Made to work with FORD vehicles with premium sound installed, but can easily be used with other vehicles.
