BNO055NanoBoard.v01

by PeskyProducts.

2 layer board of 0.41x0.41 inches (10.31x10.31 mm).
Shared on May 17th, 2015 09:02.

Small (1 square cm) wearable breakout for the BNO055 9-axis motion sensor with embedded Cortex M0 processor for hardware sensor fusion of the data. This board is hardwired for I2C, with one of two I2C addresses chosen by ADO. The interrupt is broken out for threshold, tap, and freefall detection, etc.

TMP007.v01

TI’s TMP007 is an IR Thermopile sensor which measures the temperature of an object without contacting the object. Board designed as a Teensy 3.x add-on where power and ground are provided by digitalWrite(HIGH/LOW) from Teensy GPIO pins due to very low-current (270 microAmps) operation. Interesting design challenge since the sensor is very sensitive to thermal noise so pains have to be taken to thermally isolate the tiny BGA sensor. Sensor has an alert (interrupt) function as well as one of the two address pins broken out here so two of these can be on the same I2C bus.

VEML6070.v01

by PeskyProducts.

2 layer board of 0.71x0.31 inches (17.93x7.77 mm).
Shared on May 11th, 2015 02:14.

Vishay’s new UV (355 nm peak) light sensor communicating via I2C protocol with an interrupt to alert the microcontroller to user-set thresholds. Very low power (100 microAmps) operation means the board can be powered from digitalWrite(HIGH) from any GPIO pin on a Teensy 3.x. 16-bit output in lux and UV index.

MotionSensorTest Board.v01

by PeskyProducts.

2 layer board of 0.71x0.51 inches (17.91x12.83 mm).
Shared on April 28th, 2015 00:03.

Breakout board for four popular motion sensors including the Invensense MPU9250, ST’s LSM9DS0, Maxim Integrated’s MAX21100, and Bosch’s BMX055. Intent is to characterize the performance of the accelerometers, gyros, and magnetometers on these sensors under the same conditions. Separate analog and digital voltage sources to probe effect of digital signal line voltage and noise on data jitter. At least one interrupt broken out per sensor to allow comparison between polling and hardware interrupt on performance. Is there a significant difference between these sensor elements in terms of jitter, drift, stability, and response time? Let’s find out…

ESP8266TeensyAdd-On.v01

by PeskyProducts.

2 layer board of 0.71x0.80 inches (17.96x20.29 mm).
Shared on April 27th, 2015 05:27.

Simple breakout board for the ESP8266 chip to provide wifi capability to the Teensy 3.1. Designed to take power from VIN via USB or LiPo battery and convert to 3V3 with a TLV7333 300 mA voltage regulator. Also on board is a Macronix 4 Mbit MX254006E SPI Flash memory chip. Small rgb led indicates power on, pcb antenna matched to 2.4 GHz. Can use either 26 or 40 MHz Seiko Epson crystal. The board has the same eight pins as the cheap Chinese modules as a first cut to see how hard it is to add wifi to Teensy 3.1 projects. The board is designed to solder directly on top of the Teensy just above the USB plug.
