The STWBC-MC from STMicroelectronics is the digital controller for the wireless battery charger transmitters specifically designed to support the Qi MP-A15 EPP (Extended Power Profile) multi-coil applications up to 15 W. This Qi 1.2.4 compliant transmitter detects a valid receiver and selects the most efficient coil for power transfer, and also ensures extended Foreign Object Detection (FOD) through bi-directional communication with the receiver. It can adapt to the amount of energy transferred by the coil by modulating the frequency, duty cycle or amplitude of the PWM voltage on the transmitting coil. The STWBC-MC supports the proprietary wireless fast-charge extensions of leading smartphone manufacturers. It also monitors coil current and voltage.

The STWBC-MC is available in a 5 x 5 mm VFQFPN32 package and is ideal for cell phones, smartphones, tablets and phablets applications.
