What are RF Frequency Multipliers?

Frequency multipliers are devices that produce an output signal whose frequency is a multiple of the input signal. The multiple can be 2x (Frequency doublers), 3x, 4x and soo on. We have listed frequency multiplier products from the leading manufacturers and made them searchable by specification. We have gone through catalog of over 40 manufacturers to identify their Image Reject mixer products. The product data from all these different manufacturer catalogs was standardized and added in to our database to allow users to conduct parametric searches.

When looking for a frequency multiplier, here are the important parameters that you should specify:

Input Frequency (MHz): This is the frequency that is input into the multiplier i.e. this is the frequency that needs to be multiplied.

Multiplying Factor: This is the multiple by which the frequency of the input signal will be multiplied – It can be 2x, 3x, 4x and soo on.

Output Power (dBm): This is the power level of the output signal.

Types of RF Multipliers: There are mainly two types of multipliers, Active multipliers and passive multipliers. Active Multipliers produce an output signal which has a power level that is greater than or equal to the input power level. This increase in power level is known as conversion gain. Passive Multipliers produce an output signal which has a power level that is less than the input power level. This loss in power level is know as conversion loss.

Once you find a Frequency multipliers that meets you specification, you can view more information on them, download datasheets and then request quotations on products that you would like a quote for. The quotation is routed to the manufacturer or their distributor in your region who will get back to you with the requested information.
