The Model 2180 is a high power solid state RF amplifier system for CW, modulated, and pulse applications. The amplifier operates from 1 GHz to 2.5 GHz delivers up to 2 kW CW of broadband output power in an 8U, air cooled chassis. Offering unrivaled size, weight, and power advantages and building on a design architecture, this amplifier provides excellent performance for end applications that include, but are not limited to, test and measurement, electronic warfare, and communications. Customer specific product variations which can be leveraged from this baseline, 1 to 2.5 GHz platform, include high power pulse applications for S-Band radar and multi-kW "scaled up" power combinations for L and S-Band applications.
This amplifier utilizes high power GaN devices that provide wide frequency response, high gain, high peak power capability, and low distortions. Exceptional performance, long-term reliability and high efficiency are achieved by employing advanced broadband RF matching networks and combining techniques, EMI/RFI filters, and all qualified components. The amplifier is constructed in 5RU+3RU multi-drawer including the forced air-cooling. The system requires a 208VAC three phase AC supply to operate.
The amplifier includes a built in control and monitoring system, with protection functions which preserve high availability. Remote management and diagnostics are via an embedded web server allowing network managed site status and control simply by connecting the unit&rsquos Ethernet port to a LAN. Using a web browser and the unit&rsquos IP address (IPV4) allows ease of access with the benefit of multi-level security. The control system core runs an embedded OS (Linux), has a built-in nonvolatile memory for event recording, and factory setup recovery features. The extended memory option allows storage of control parameters and event logs. Click here to see product Specs
